Post 6: Postgraduate studies
When I finish studying journalism I would like to work a few years and then take some postgraduate courses, so I could specialize in the areas I like.
One of the courses I'd like to take is Narrative Nonfiction Writing. I would take that one 'cause I like when stories are written in a narrative way, like a tale or a chronicle, and I would like to do that when I'll be working.
I'd like to have subjects where I could learn how to write stories using figures of speech or anachronies, so I could sort the events and tell them the way I want.
Even though I would like to study a postgraduate course here in Chile, I'm also interested in studying abroad. The main reason is that in some foreign countries the media is more developed, so I could learn new things that aren't taught in chilean universities yet.
As I said, before studying a postgraduate course, I would like to work for a few years so I could earn money. Then, I think I would take a part-time course so I could study and work at the same time. I don't like distance courses very much, so I think that wouldn't be an option.
I would also like to take a postgraduate course about investigative journalism, so I could improve my research skills.
